Regus Expands into Hokkaido for the First Time

SAPPORO, JAPAN – July 10, 2012 – Regus, the world’s leading provider of flexible workspaces, announced their first expansion into the Hokkaido region with the opening in July of their “Sapporo Kita Building Centre” which offers their full range of services including rental offices and a business lounge in the “Sapporo Kita Building”.

Regus was founded in Brussels, Belgium in 1989, and with a global footprint of 1,200 locations in 550 cities and 95 countries is the world’s largest provider of flexible workplaces, with products and services ranging from fully equipped offices to professional meeting rooms, and business lounges ideal for teleworkers. Regus business centres are used by everyone from global customers such as Google, GlaxoSmithKline, and Nokia, to growing small and medium businesses, to individual business people working on their own. Regus entered Japan with their first centre in Tokyo in 1998 and since then they have expanded their footprint across Japan including Sendai, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka, with the Sapporo Kita Building Centre becoming the 27th centre located in Japan.

The Sapporo Kita Building Centre is the first business centre to open in Hokkaido, conveniently located a short one minute walk from the JR Sapporo station with direct underground access. The Sapporo Kita Building Centre is equipped with the facilities standard at any Regus business centre – rental offices, meeting rooms, business lounges and virtual offices. The office facilities provide an efficient and flexible workplace both for companies with branch offices in Sapporo and for established and new business startups based in Sapporo. The business lounge is ideal for not only business people located throughout the Hokkaido region, but is the perfect business environment for teleworkers and nomad workers from all over Japan and the world.

With the opening of the Sapporo Kita Building Centre, Jessy Takashi Kure, Chairman of North Asia at Regus, says: “Using a Regus business centre when you need it, where you need, and with the services you need allows companies and business people to focus on their work. With the Regus Sapporo Kita Building Centre we strongly believe we can help support our customers’ businesses to succeed.”

Regus will continue to rapidly expand their business in the Japanese market, and is dedicated to promoting workplace solutions that support today’s flexible workstyles.
