Regus Australia and New Zealand appoints John Henderson as its new CEO
John Henderson returns to the market after 15 years helping the company grow throughout Asia-Pacific as regional CFO
Regus, the global workspace provider, is pleased to announce today that it has appointed John Henderson as its CEO of Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Henderson is a long-standing company leader, having spent the past 15 years as Regus’ Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the Asia Pacific, operating out of Hong Kong. Before that, he was instrumental in helping to set up Australia as the regional head office of Regus Asia-Pacific, and was the Director of Best Practice in London.
During his time at Regus Asia-Pacific, Mr Henderson has been responsible for business development and strategy across 19 countries, including Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, as well as Australia itself. The growth that he managed in these regions included oversight and management of mergers and acquisitions, franchise and joint venture initiatives in a number of forms.
Now in his new role, Mr Henderson will be responsible for accelerating growth through a key market for Regus, and one that he was instrumental in developing.
“I am looking forward to returning to Australia to take on the opportunity to be the Regus CEO for Australia and New Zealand,” he said. “Australia is a robust and well established market for Regus, but we see a lot of opportunity to grow it further.”
With more than 2,500 business centres in 106 countries around the world, Regus is already the global market leader in flexible workspace provision. In 2014 alone, it grew over 20 per cent from London to Durban to Mumbai, to satisfy growing demand worldwide.
“The Regus network in Australia alone has grown from 43 sites to 70 sites in the last year, with plans of expanding our network across Australia and New Zealand in the coming months.” said Mr Henderson. “We’re embracing the changing face of the workforce and through our range of innovative workspaces that meet the needs of the worker today and into the future, we’re meeting this evolving demand.”
As CEO, Mr Henderson will begin his role based in the Hong Kong office and will move to the Australia Square Regus Headquarters in Sydney in early 2016.
